497e39180f The October Crisis is a drama that tells the story of three brothers in the American Midwest - Jake, Casey and Mac. The film deals Jake and Casey's response to the molestation of his youngest brother Mac by a Catholic priest, Father Thomas. After the police fail to make a conviction, Casey convinces Jake, an outspoken atheist, that they must murder the priest. Set on a path of revenge, Jake must overcome the challenges involved in planning and executing a perfect murder. He performs his own investigation, struggles to keep his secret from his Evangelist girlfriend Julia, and struggles to hit anything with his newly acquired handgun. But more importantly, Jake must confront his own moral questions & lingering doubts, examining the very nature of faith and justice. The plan puts Jake's relationships to the test and pulls his life into focus. After a day of target practice and fantasizing about the murder, Jake believes he has firmly dedicated himself to what he must do - but an unlikely twist of events puts the life or death of Father Thomas directly in Jake's hands much sooner than anticipated. Suddenly, he is forced to make a choice.
